The Wagstaffe/Miroy Trunk
January 21, 2014
Wagstaffe

WagstaffeWhilst collecting the Miroy collection and helping to clear the house we came across this old trunk in the loft. With the name Wagstaffe on it we realised that it dated from Barbara’s father who founded the Folkestone Hockey Festival.

It was through the Festival that Barbara and Nevil first met and the story is that Mr Wagstaffe gave them the Festival as a wedding present!

To honour the enormous contribution to hockey by the Wagstaffe and Miroy families we have set up this display in the trunk at the museum.
