In the past fortnight we’re pleased to have made two more women’s Great Britain (GB) honours cap presentations, which means that there are only 17 more to go to complete the total of 212 GB women players.

On Saturday 24 August, Erica Sanders (GB player no. 202, 2018-2019, 14 caps) visited The Hockey Museum to receive her cap, followed on Thursday 29 August by Kirsty Bowden (GB player no. 104, 1997-2000, 42 caps). Both players took the opportunity to have a full look round the Museum and it’s fair to say that they were both blown away by the size and quality of the collection.

On the men’s side of GB cap presentations, we still have 93 to present to post-1951 players and 51 caps to players whose GB careers began before 1951. The men’s figure is much greater than the ladies because they cover a greater span of time back to the 1920 Olympic Games, whereas the women’s first Olympic Games took place in 1980, which ultimately GB did not attend.
