KATY ROBERTS

Katy is a senior legal counsel, manager and leader with 20 years’ experience in the banking industry. She is currently a Managing Director in the Legal Department of Nomura, a global investment bank, where she is Head of Transaction Legal in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Between 1999 and 2008, Katy gained over 40 senior international caps with England and Great Britain, including participation in the Women’s World Cup in Madrid in 2006 and the EuroHockey Nations Championships in Manchester in 2007. Katy was a member of Team GB for the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 where she was the reserve goalkeeper.

After retiring from elite hockey, Katy went on to become a Non-Executive Director of both England Hockey (2011–2020) and Great Britain Hockey (2015–2020). She was also a member of the International Hockey Federation’s (FIH) Women in Sport Committee between 2019–2023 raising awareness of gender equality and the value of diversity in sports governance.

Katy brings significant skills and a deep understanding of strategic governance, inclusion and developing stakeholder relationships to THM board. She also provides a strong understanding of elite hockey in the modern era and links to recent past international players.
