New year, new faces on our Board of Trustees
January 26, 2026

The Hockey Museum (THM) is delighted to announce the appointment of two new recruits to our Board of Trustees, Eleanor Thomas and Vanessa Mitchell. Both are museum professionals in other organisations with complimentary experience of working with diverse heritage collections. Their expertise will guide their fellow trustees and our small staff team in collections management policy and practice.

We would also like to place on record our gratitude to Clio O’Sullivan who stepped down from the THM board in October after four years guiding our marketing strategy. Clio spoke positively of THM to Eleanor when she was considering whether to apply for our trustee position. Similarly, Vanessa’s trustee application was supported by one of our former volunteers who has since gone on to work alongside her professionally.

Our thanks also extend to Nick Pink who stepped away from THM following his departure as CEO of England Hockey last year. The position of national governing body-nominated trustee on THM’s board has been taken up by the new England Hockey CEO Rich Beer, who joined us in October. Trustee and former Chairman, John Willmott, unexpectedly died in October.
