From left to right: Rebecca Burton, Curatorial Assistant and Dr Anna Stein, Collections Officer.
Following an extensive recruitment process our Curator, Shane, is delighted to share news of two fantastic additions to The Hockey Museum (THM) team.
Rebecca Burton joined us as Curatorial Assistant back in October, working two days per week to support our collections management and storytelling activities. She’s already proved herself to be highly competent in both areas, with strong organisational skills, an investigative mind and an excellent eye for accuracy and detail.
Dr Anna Stein started with us only last week as our new Collections Officer, working three days per week. Anna brings great enthusiasm and no small amount of skill and experience to our collections work. She will lead the maintenance and delivery of collection management procedures to the standards appropriate for an accredited museum, co-ordinating, supporting and training our volunteer team to deliver in this area, as well as working with Shane to unlock the storytelling potential of our globally unique hockey heritage collection.
Together with Shane, Anna and Rebecca bring our employment levels up to the equivalent of two full-time staff, an unprecedented step for our young organisation.
THM’s Chairperson David Knapp said:
“The loss of former Collections Officer Carli-Lyn Vermani in early 2024 was a big blow to us. However, after 10 months of searching for a replacement the appointment of two new quality members of staff gives us the perfect platform to assist Shane and move the museum forward. 2025 promises to be a year during which we will make huge advancements.”
