In a recent article (link below), we posed the question of whether the International Federation of Women’s Hockey Associations (IFWHA) World Championships in 1975 and 1979 should be recognised as the equal of the women’s World Cups organised by the International Hockey Federation from 1974 onwards.

Should the IFWHA World Championships be recognised as the equal of the FIH Women’s World Cups? – The Hockey Museum

As a follow-up to that article – a mini-series, if you like – The Hockey Museum (THM) has collaborated with our friends at Talk Hockey Radio (THR) to record a podcast looking back at the 1975 Championship, which was held in Edinburgh.

THR’s Taff Ahmed conducted the group interview, which features Anita White (the victorious England captain), Sheila Morrow (vice-captain of the runners up Wales) and Evlyn Raistrick (member of the event organising committee and the driving force behind efforts to celebrate the recent 50th anniversary of this event).

The group interview has been published by THR as a podcast (audio-only) and by THM as a video on our YouTube channel. Links to both are below.

We are also sharing the weblink to archival footage of the 1975 IFWHA World Championship, held by the National Library of Scotland, to further illustrate the stories being told in the podcast.
