An Enquiry To Cap It All
January 08, 2016
IrishCap

IrishCapInterest in The Hockey Museum is partly reflected in the ever increasing number of enquiries that we receive. Hockey is a very wide ranging subject and so are the questions. Invariably we find at least part of the answer but one recent question has us stumped. The photograph to the right is of an honours cap which turned up in the offices of the Irish Hockey Association. They could not identify it and neither can we. The lion suggests something English but how did it turn up in Dublin? The initials “G.O.S.H.C.” on the visor do not line up with any independent school, nor any regiment of the Army in that era.

Can you help us answer this question please?
